"Amboseli ", in the Masai language, means "Salty Dust". Despite its dry appearance, it has an endless water supply that comes from Mt. Kilimanjaro’s ice cap. This year round luxury attracts huge elephant herds and many other large mammals.
This world famous reserve was created to protect its stunning flocks of lesser flamingo, which literally turn its shores pink. It’s bird life here is world renowned: a beacon for leading ornithologists, scientists and filmmakers
The Masai Mara is one of the best known and most popular reserves in the whole of Africa. At times and in certain places it can get a little overrun with tourist minibuses, but there is something so special about it that it tempts you back time and again.
"This park is part of the Aberdare Mountain Range, and encompasses fascinating landscapes. Kenya's third largest park, its dramatic mountains, and lush jungle valleys gave rise to the Kikuyu legend that it is one of the homes of Ngai (God). The range was named after the then President of the Royal Geographical Society by the intrepid Scot, Joseph Thomson, who explored the region in 1883.
Mount Kenya is the country's highest mountain. Sitting astride the equator its icy summit reaches to 5199m (17,058 ft). The entire mountain above the 3200m contour forms a national park. The mountain consists of three principal zones: the rocky peak area i.e. eroded volcanic plug, the alpine zone with its distinctive giant vegetation and the vast gentle lower slopes drenched in mountain forest and bamboo jungle.
The 117 km2 Nairobi National Park is unique by being the only protected area in the world with a variety of animals and birds close to a capital city. As expected, the park is a principal attraction for visitors to Nairobi.
