8 Days (7 Nights) Mt. Kilimanjaro Trekking

 

Day 1; Nairobi - Moshi.
Drive across Kenya-Tanzania border to  Moshi arriving for lunch as well as check-in. Spend the afternoon preparing for the following day's trekking. Dinner and overnight at Marangu Hotel  (Lunch & Dinner).

Day 2;Moshi - Machame Cottage.

 Morning drive, with guides and potters to Machame gate where the climb begins through the rain forest to Machame camp (3000m) in about 6 hours. All meal and overnight at Machame camp - that is about 18km (Lunch & Dinner) 
Day 3: Machame Camp - Shira Camp.
Breakfast, cross the valley and continue along the steep bridge going onto rock ridges the route turns west into river gorge reaching Shira camp (3800m), dinner and overnight. It's about 9km. (Full Board)

 
Day 4: Shira Camp - Kibo - Barranco. 
After breakfast, continue east towards Kibo passing the junction, then east towards lava tower, shortly after this, you climb down to Barranco (3940m). Dinner and overnight. It takes 4hours (Full Board)
Day 5: Barranco - Karanga - Baranfu Camp.
A steep rocky climb from Barranco, (Barranco walls) then ups and down until you come to Karanga valley and then onto Baranfu camp (4600m) at the foot of the mountain, for about 6 hrs. Dinner and overnight (Full Board) 

Day 6: Baranfu Camp - Uhuru Peak - Mweka Camp.
Early start for the summit around 1:00am. First to Stella point, then Uhuru peak (5895m) where you spend few minutes taking photos then descend to Mweka camp for dinner and overnight (Full Board). 

Day 7: Mweka Camp - Moshi
Mweka camp to Mweka gate will take about 3hrs. Then drive back to Moshi.for overnight at Marangu hotel (Full Board). 
Day 8: Moshi -Nairobi
Morning drive across Tanzania-Kenya border, with picnic lunch (Lunch Box) arriving in the afternoon in Nairobi.  (Breakfast & Lunch).
